This child care online first aid training Level 2 course is designed to give everyone who works with children, infants or young people a basic introduction to paediatric first aid and to give you the confidence to aid in an emergency situation.

To meet the requirements of Ofsted for paediatric first aid training you will need to complete the level 3, 12 hour 2 day training course.

• Unresponsive and breathing
• Unresponsive and not breathing, including:
• Chain of survival
• Use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) on children
• Choking
• Bleeding
• Burnt or has a scald
• Object in their eye, ear or nose
• Hypothermia or heat exhaustion
• Sickness or fever
• Medical emergency, including:
• Meningitis
• Diabetic emergency
• Seizures
• Asthma attack, and
• Severe allergic reaction (anaphylactic shock).
• Injury to a bone muscle or joint (including spinal injuries)
• Head injury
• Swallowed something harmful

On completion of this first aid for children online course you will be required to complete an assessment with a pass mark of 80%. If you do not pass on your first attempt, don’t worry, as you can re-take the test as many times as you need with no extra charge.
